Thien Mu Pagoda The pagoda is situated on Ha Khe hill, on the left bank of the Perfume River, in Huong Long village, 5km from Hue city.

In the 1960s the government was very pro-Catholic/anti-Buddhist and the Thien Mu Pagoda was a site of
anti-government protest.
The
first monk, who publicly burnt himself to death in Saigon to draw 's attention to
the
Buddhist plight in Vietnam, was from here. The car which he rode in this day is stored and preserved here.
